Week 4

Since we were tasked to work on the background for our character, Mr. Hafiz explained about a few storytelling methods through background. For example, Japanese media tends to focus more on the environment whilst Western media usually emphasize on their characters more.

Mr. Hafiz also demonstrated the way to add gradient to objects.

My idea was to make a scene of a palace under the sea, I'm not very good at drawing but I put my heart and soul into it

First I drew the columns first.

Put the character in again and give him a shadow effect

I added this textured feel to the characters and backgrounds

Finally I put the painted coral on, and changed the position of the character, and the colour of the background to lake blue

RATIONALE

Auriron is an extremely rare Legendary Pokémon that lives in an underwater palace and guards a ‘jewel’ (an extremely old legendary jewel that can make a Pokémon very powerful) I used the underwater palace as a backdrop because Auriron lives there all the time and he seems to be very I used the underwater palace as a backdrop because Auriron lives there all the time and he seems to be very fond of grandiose things.
