Final Submission Artwork Introduction: The Odyssey of Gundam In this piece, I poured my passion for the iconic Gundam mech, weaving it into a visual narrative that tells a tale of adventure and cosmic wonder. Beyond a well-crafted poster, it's a visual storytelling of a unique story set in the expansive universe. Story Overview: The poster unfolds the journey of Gundam, a mech exuding personality, as the protagonist on a stage set across the cosmos. Filled with battles, exploration, and encounters with diverse planets, Gundam's journey is a mix of challenges and exhilaration. Climax of the Ending: However, amidst this cosmic odyssey, Gundam faces its most challenging moment. A mysterious missile emerges, carrying a deadly threat. Ultimately, the narrative reaches an unpredictable climax as Gundam is struck, triggering an explosion that reverberates through the cosmos. Why Gundam: Why choose Gundam as the central theme? Gundam embodies perseverance, courage, and a unique personality, aligning seamlessly with my design philosophy and creative inspiration. The demise of Gundam isn't just a turning point in the story but a profound expression of my deep affection for this character. Design Elements: Carefully crafting Gundam's expression, mech details, and the vibrant hues of nebulae in the cosmic backdrop, this poster creates a profound and mysterious atmosphere. It's not merely an image but a tribute to the legendary story of Gundam. Through this artwork, I aim for viewers to sense the distinctive charm of Gundam and, in the inevitable conclusion, experience the fragility of life juxtaposed against the vastness of the universe

Introduction: I am Guqiankuan, and my artistic journey is an exploration of Art Deco style, intertwined with the dynamic world of Gundam and the emotions it evokes, crafted through the lens of Adobe Illustrator's design.

Theme and Concept: Choosing the Gundam saga as the focal point for my creative endeavor, I found resonance in the potential synergy between the iconic mech series and the elegance of Art Deco style. Art Deco, renowned for its timeless sophistication and geometric patterns, adds a layer of visual richness to the poster. The choice of this style hints at the classic nature of Gundam's epic battles transcending the bounds of time. I sketched a climactic scene to encapsulate the essence of the story – a moment of intense encounter in the vastness of space. The Art Deco elements, with their shadows, bold contrasts, and geometric shapes, serve to enhance the dramatic atmosphere, pulling the viewer deep into the narrative. Additionally, my focus extends to animating the scene, capturing the tension of Gundam facing adversities in the cosmos.

Medium and Techniques: My primary canvas is Adobe Illustrator, where I weave together minimalist design elements, geometric shapes, bold colors, gradients, and textures, utilizing clipping masks to amplify the Art Deco style. The process also involves the creation of animations through Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Animated GIF Maker.

Art Directions and Connection with Audience:

1. Contrast: To emphasize crucial elements, I use bold colors, such as a striking red for Gundam, making it stand out against the cosmic background. The brightness of the mech contrasts with the surrounding darkness, emphasizing its formidable presence.
2. Color Palette and Design Elements: Employing a limited color palette, I aim for a minimalist look. Cool, deep blues enhance the cosmic atmosphere, while bold colors accentuate the Art Deco style. Geometric shapes contribute to the overall aesthetic.

Reflection: Creating an Art Deco-style poster narrating Gundam's cosmic encounters demanded in-depth research, keen observation, and creative decision-making. Understanding the intricacies of the Gundam universe, adhering to minimalist design principles, and balancing visual impact were essential. Animations played a pivotal role in conveying the narrative's intensity, with Gundam facing challenges in the cosmos. Emotional connections were fostered through color choices, scene design, and strategic use of negative space, guiding the viewer through the dynamic story. User experience considerations were paramount, ensuring animations elevated the overall experience without causing distraction. Expressing creativity within the constraints of minimalism proved essential, requiring innovative approaches to represent key elements while maintaining visual intrigue and provoking thought.
