Project 1: Prototype design
Target
In the first part of the assignment, you will focus on creating a UI design prototype for your digital resume or curriculum vitae (CV) using prototyping software such as Figma. A UI design prototype will demonstrate the layout, visual elements, and user interface interactions of your digital resume.
Require
1. Content and structure
Content preparation: Include personal details, education, work experience, skills, projects and other relevant sections.
Sequence and Hierarchy: Determine the sequence and hierarchy of parts based on their importance and relevance.
2. Layout and visual design
Design Layout: Use your chosen prototyping software to define the placement of different parts and their flow.
Visual Consistency: Apply a consistent visual design using typography, color palette, and appropriate spacing.
3. Departments and Organizations
Logical Sections: Organize your resume into logical sections such as "Profile," "Education," "Experience," "Skills," "Projects," and "Contact."
Prioritize: Prioritize sections based on their relevance and importance to your target position.
4. Visual elements
Enhance visual appeal: Include relevant images, icons, or placeholders that match the content and enhance the visual appeal of your digital resume.

Research and Sketching
initial research
To get inspiration and ideas, I start by exploring Pinterest. I specifically searched for “online digital resume” and also looked at the portfolio landing page. This helps me understand current trends and best practices in digital resume design.

Key findings from Pinterest:
  • Clean and minimalist design: Many digital resumes feature a clean, minimalist layout that focuses on readability and simplicity.
  • Use of visual elements: Use icons, images, and subtle graphics to enhance visual appeal without making the content appear overly complex.
  • Consistent fonts: Consistent use of fonts helps maintain a professional and unified look.
  • Color Matching: Using a limited and coordinated color palette helps create a visual design that is not distracting.
  • Section Hierarchy: An effective resume clearly prioritizes sections, allowing the viewer to find key information quickly.
1.Mood board
I searched for a lot of templates and I thought I'd rather have a trendy one and I decided to combine them to make it more appealing to the audience.

Color Palette

Here's the final color palette for my project. I grappled with finding the right background color combinations, so I decided not to include the ones I initially chose.

For font colors, I opted for simplicity to achieve a more sophisticated appearance.

Digitize the outcome

Sure thing: I started off with a gradient of blue tones for my design, but my friend mentioned that it seemed a bit dull. Considering their feedback, I opted for brighter colors to bring more life to the overall design.

I've been struggling with color choices, so I decided to start creating profile avatars for my resume.

In the end, I settled on gray because I felt it had a more sophisticated and clean look.Under the guidance of my teacher, I also made changes to the format and structure of the image, as well as the font.

FEEDBACK

Week 5: Please keep it simple; coding the digital resume for Project 2 shouldn't be too challenging. If you can't code it and want to make changes, that's not acceptable.

Week 6: Our instructor mentioned that while the layout is acceptable, there's room for improvement. I need to demonstrate your skills as a UI/UX designer. Also, simplify the boxes; avoid making them too complex. Additionally, consider making the top section more engaging, and ensure all elements are properly aligned.

REFLECTION
In this assignment, I initially found it challenging to design my resume. Feeling unsure of where to begin, I sought inspiration from Pinterest. Once I started, I incorporated my chosen color palette into the design. Seeking feedback from our instructor, I discovered the significance of typesetting. With the guidance received, my layout underwent significant improvement. I came to understand the difficulty in crafting a professional composition; too many boxes can clutter, while too few may fail to emphasize key information. To enhance clarity, I introduced some background boxes behind the text. Although my result may not exude high professionalism, I remain dedicated to learning and enhancing my skills for future endeavors.
